Pomeroy Rec & Rehabilitation Center: Inspiring Individuals with Disabilities to Live a Full Life

Every day, 1 in 5 Americans with a disability struggle to overcome obstacles in their day-to-day life. With the help of rehabilitation centers, many of those 1 in 5 are able to gain strength and independence in their physical and emotional lives.

Pomeroy Recreation & Rehabilitation Center is just one of the many centers in the country that strives to give back to those with disabilities. Founded in 1952 by Janet Pomeroy, the center was one of the first recreation centers in the Bay Area designed for people with disabilities. Janet’s dream of creating a place in the community structured to help children and adults with disabilities had become a reality.

Today the center serves nearly 2,000 people every week, changing lives and inspiring individuals with disabilities to live a full and happy life. Since the beginning they have stayed true to their mission of providing recreational, vocational, and educational opportunities for people with disabilities through programs and services that promote personal achievement, encourage self-expression, and lead to greater independence.

FGS&Co. is honored to feature Pomeroy Recreation & Rehabilitation Center as a nonprofit cause partner and bring attention to the opportunities and inspiration they give to the community.
